CVE-2012-3358 1 Uclouvain 1 Openjpeg 2023-02-13 N/A
Multiple heap-based buffer overflows in the j2k_read_sot function in j2k.c in OpenJPEG 1.5 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted (1) tile number or (2) tile length in a JPEG 2000 image file.
CVE-2009-5030 1 Uclouvain 1 Openjpeg 2023-02-13 N/A
The tcd_free_encode function in tcd.c in OpenJPEG 1.3 through 1.5 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption) and possibly execute arbitrary code via crafted tile information in a Gray16 TIFF image, which causes insufficient memory to be allocated and leads to an "invalid free."
CVE-2021-3575 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, Uclouvain 3 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Openjpeg 2023-02-12 7.8 High
A heap-based buffer overflow was found in openjpeg in color.c:379:42 in sycc420_to_rgb when decompressing a crafted .j2k file. An attacker could use this to execute arbitrary code with the permissions of the application compiled against openjpeg.
CVE-2016-9581 1 Uclouvain 1 Openjpeg 2023-02-12 N/A
An infinite loop vulnerability in tiftoimage that results in heap buffer overflow in convert_32s_C1P1 was found in openjpeg 2.1.2.
CVE-2016-9580 1 Uclouvain 1 Openjpeg 2023-02-12 N/A
An integer overflow vulnerability was found in tiftoimage function in openjpeg 2.1.2, resulting in heap buffer overflow.
CVE-2016-9573 3 Debian, Redhat, Uclouvain 7 Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop, Enterprise Linux Server and 4 more 2023-02-12 N/A
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was found in OpenJPEG 2.1.2, in the j2k_to_image tool. Converting a specially crafted JPEG2000 file to another format could cause the application to crash or, potentially, disclose some data from the heap.
CVE-2016-9572 2 Debian, Uclouvain 2 Debian Linux, Openjpeg 2023-02-12 N/A
A NULL pointer dereference flaw was found in the way openjpeg 2.1.2 decoded certain input images. Due to a logic error in the code responsible for decoding the input image, an application using openjpeg to process image data could crash when processing a crafted image.
CVE-2016-9675 2 Redhat, Uclouvain 5 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux For Ibm Z Systems, Enterprise Linux For Power Big Endian and 2 more 2023-02-10 7.8 High
openjpeg: A heap-based buffer overflow flaw was found in the patch for CVE-2013-6045. A crafted j2k image could cause the application to crash, or potentially execute arbitrary code.
CVE-2018-21010 2 Debian, Uclouvain 2 Debian Linux, Openjpeg 2022-10-29 8.8 High
OpenJPEG before 2.3.1 has a heap buffer overflow in color_apply_icc_profile in bin/common/color.c.
CVE-2020-27814 2 Debian, Uclouvain 2 Debian Linux, Openjpeg 2022-10-07 7.8 High
A heap-buffer overflow was found in the way openjpeg2 handled certain PNG format files. An attacker could use this flaw to cause an application crash or in some cases execute arbitrary code with the permission of the user running such an application.
CVE-2020-15389 3 Debian, Oracle, Uclouvain 3 Debian Linux, Outside In Technology, Openjpeg 2022-10-06 6.5 Medium
jp2/opj_decompress.c in OpenJPEG through 2.3.1 has a use-after-free that can be triggered if there is a mix of valid and invalid files in a directory operated on by the decompressor. Triggering a double-free may also be possible. This is related to calling opj_image_destroy twice.
CVE-2019-12973 4 Debian, Opensuse, Oracle and 1 more 5 Debian Linux, Leap, Database Server and 2 more 2022-10-05 5.5 Medium
In OpenJPEG 2.3.1, there is excessive iteration in the opj_t1_encode_cblks function of openjp2/t1.c. Remote attackers could leverage this vulnerability to cause a denial of service via a crafted bmp file. This issue is similar to CVE-2018-6616.
CVE-2016-8332 1 Uclouvain 1 Openjpeg 2022-04-19 N/A
A buffer overflow in OpenJPEG 2.1.1 causes arbitrary code execution when parsing a crafted image. An exploitable code execution vulnerability exists in the jpeg2000 image file format parser as implemented in the OpenJpeg library. A specially crafted jpeg2000 file can cause an out of bound heap write resulting in heap corruption leading to arbitrary code execution. For a successful attack, the target user needs to open a malicious jpeg2000 file. The jpeg2000 image file format is mostly used for embedding images inside PDF documents and the OpenJpeg library is used by a number of popular PDF renderers making PDF documents a likely attack vector.
CVE-2018-5785 3 Canonical, Debian, Uclouvain 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Openjpeg 2021-02-03 6.5 Medium
In OpenJPEG 2.3.0, there is an integer overflow caused by an out-of-bounds left shift in the opj_j2k_setup_encoder function (openjp2/j2k.c). Remote attackers could leverage this vulnerability to cause a denial of service via a crafted bmp file.
CVE-2018-6616 4 Canonical, Debian, Oracle and 1 more 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Georaster and 1 more 2021-02-03 5.5 Medium
In OpenJPEG 2.3.0, there is excessive iteration in the opj_t1_encode_cblks function of openjp2/t1.c. Remote attackers could leverage this vulnerability to cause a denial of service via a crafted bmp file.
